The Eternal Covenant of Peace by Pastor Earma

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Leader. –1 Peter 1:2

Have you thought about growing in peace? I’ve heard often we grow in grace. But not so much peace. So, today after thinking about Apostle Peter’s instruction or blessing above, I’ve been realizing afresh in our Christian walk that we should be growing in grace and peace more and more. Jesus said unto his disciples after resurrection and now to us as current day disciples, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

With that said, we (the disciples of Christ) are called to be the peacemakers. Remember, we have received such a precious gift to share in troublesome times. Who knows right in the midst of everything someone may be wondering how you can achieve peace. It could become a great opportunity to let them know the WHO your peace is flowing from. Here are seven more scriptures that are sure to encourage you in your peacemaking.

  1. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called: Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
  2. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life.
  3. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  4. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusted in thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength.
  5. John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
  6. John 20:19,21,26: Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you…
  7. Numbers 6:26: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
  8. Matthew 5:9 NIV: Blessed are the peacemakers for they are called the children of God.

Remember, choose one to meditate on this week so that grace and peace is multiplied to you. May God’s blessing be upon you and your family, enjoy your week.
