The Gift of Eternal Life

Behold the Lamb of God!

He wore wild animal hair and ate locust is how John the Baptist was described. His birth and mission was foretold to his parents by an angel sent from heaven. Prophesied as the forerunner to the Messiah, it was no wonder he cried, “Behold the Lamb of God!” when Jesus of Nazareth appeared in the crowd out there lined up to be baptized. When Jesus’ turn came, he said to him, “You should be baptizing me.” His response was, “John suffer it to be done. So that my full obedience can be fulfilled.” John was told it would be confirmed by the Holy Spirit coming upon Jesus in a bodily form as a dove.” It happened just as was told him.

Here are eleven eye opening things every Christian should know about the gift of eternal life.

  7. God’s Grace to Us
…15This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. 16But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, and invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.…

  10. Death Reigned in Adam, Life in Christ
…19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. 20 The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.…
