God's Glorious Recompense via Rehearsal by Pastor Earma

Good morning! Welcome to the ARISE & STREAM Sunday Sermon Program. Today we are continuing the journey through God’s Glorious Recompense. After a Special Event program last session, we are introducing the REHEARSAL topic or layer of God’s Recompense. I hope you will be encouraged to begin, if not already, rehearsing your answered prayers and miracles. Just a reminder Father God has agreed to meet us in these sessions. So, be encouraged if you haven’t seen anything yet. It may be your turn this time. Without anything further let’s go to the teaching:

IN REVIEW
We have been studying RECOMPENSE this year. Month by month we’ve been progressing through the list. I’ve switched a couple around. For example, we are covering REHEARSAL instead of RENEW this month.

  1. Recompense Jeremiah 51:56 says …God of recompenses, he will surely requite”
  2. Restoration. In the Bible, Joel 2:25 says, “I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the canker worm, and the caterpillar, and the Palmer-worm, my great army which I sent among you”
  3. Recovery 1 Samuel 30:4 Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep. He and his priest enquired of the Lord.
  4. Resurrection. The resurrection of Lazarus is a miracle in the Bible that appears in the Gospel of John 11:1–44. In this story, Jesus raises Lazarus of Bethany from the dead four days after he dies.

The stories have been interesting and vivid. We saw Moses and the people at the foot of the mountain and tempest winds, lightning, earthquake…woooh! Then Zacharias in the temple meeting angel Gabriel. Or The Shunamite woman and her (what we began calling a Shunamite Restoration)…King David and his Recompense through Recovery Miracle works.

God’s Recompense Through REHEARSAL
Psalm 103 encourages us to rehearse the good things that God has done for us and respond with passionate thanks.

then again, Deut. 6:7 And thou shalt rehearse them continually unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou tarriest in thine house, and as thou walkest by the way,

Have you ever had your mother prepare your favorite dinner for your birthday? You can tell she spent the time in the kitchen to make it special. Every little detail or dish is in place. Or maybe, you did it for your husband. You know it by heart what his special dishes are. You’re thinking what would please him the most. Well, ummhh, besides that. You have thought about it in detail. You’ve gone over it in your mind every special detail, whether it’s a romantic evening out and you return home for the night-cap with favorite wine or beverage.

Okay guys it’s your turn, you’ve planned your Honey’s favorite day of special treatment. You send her and the girls to a day at the Spa starting with the morning or shopping, next Body Spa–you know the works, hair, nails, massage…then you meet up for lunch or dinner at the finest restaurant. Either way, you have done what we’re talking about today. You rehearsed it all in your mind before ever doing it, right.

From athletes, speakers, performers, we all do it. We know the power of rehearsal, whether its before the BIG competition, performance even the MAJOR project or task. You visualize it from front to end. You imagine the results you want, the completion-in-success.

Here’s the thing, we can do the same thing with our faith. We use the God given gift called our imagination. Of course it is coupled with your faith. I started with the smaller examples because it doesn’t necessarily take faith to accomplish most of those things.

We all are familiar with Rehearsal in some way or another. In the case of our faith. We start by remembering a memory God’s miracle or your last answered prayer. You think about it and start going over it in detail, thanking God for what he did then. Then you do what I’ve outlined for you below.

Or perhaps, you don’t have a miracle memory or any answered prayer to speak of. Here’s the story of a woman who had spent her last to get well. And nothing had helped. She began to rehearse in her mind what would happen if she could just get close and do it. We found a pattern in her journey to a miracle that we can follow in creating our own prayer requests or petitions of faith.

STORY
“Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his robe; for she had been , ‘If I only touch his robe, I will be healed.’ But Jesus turning and seeing her said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.’ And at once the woman was healed” –Matthew 9:20-22 Did you see the pattern? Did notice her rehearsal?

Find your miracle memory (answered prayer) What Scripture did you use? If you don’t have one, use someone else’s as a pattern for building your faith.

Focus your faith on your most urgent or pressing request. Or choose top three at a time.

Rehearse (Imagine) think about it in detail.

Build your faith with it.

What pattern of prayer and faith did you discover?

Apply it to your prayer request. Will you write a petition with the top three prayer request. Or do you have a pressing, urgent request you want from God. Then form it today. Do it before your head hits the pillow tonight.

In summary, start rehearsing in faith today. What do you want or need? Match the Scripture with that request or petition. Write them both down. Write the request and put the Scripture under it. Memorize the scripture or pray it aloud so much that you remember it. Your tongue becomes the ready pen that writes it on your heart and/or memory. You know, before you know it, you’ll remember it by heart.

My prayer of agreement is that Father God meet you right where you are. I pray that God will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation according to Ephesians 1:17 That you would receive answered prayer or even a miracle of faith. Father, I pray for your people. Confirm your Word with signs, wonders and miracles.

Let me know how it goes. Thank you for reading.
