RECOMPENSE Through Recovery
For God so loved the whole world that he gave his only begotten son. -John 3:16
REVIEW
We continued the journey with Recovery this month. Starting with a story of the baby antelope rescue displaying the power of the congregation and community. We’ve been building our faith to recover lost things. We discovered that Father God not only wants to us as the people of God to recover material things. But to recover relationships, lost loved ones, and our relationship with him, for some.

4. THE STORY OF THE LOST PEARL: The kingdom of heaven is like searching among treasures and finding a pearl of great value. Upon finding it, one would sell all they own and purchase this pearl of great value. Pearl in the Bible symbolizes wisdom, Kingdom of heaven, right relationship with God (righteousness).
5. THE STORY OF THE LOST COIN: A woman has ten silver coins, and she loses one. In Luke 15:8-10, a woman loses one of her ten coins, but these weren’t just any coins. They were part of a semedi, a beautiful headdress a woman would be given by her betrothed. It represented their coming marriage; it was a symbol of their commitment to one another. She diligently searches her house until she finds it, and then she celebrates with her neighbors.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US: This story highlights God’s value for each person and his persistent effort to find and restore those who are lost to him. It shows the joy in heaven when a sinner repents.
6. THE STORY OF THE PRODIGAL SON: A father has two sons. The younger son asks for his inheritance, squanders it, and eventually returns home in remorse. His father welcomes him back with open arms and great joy.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US: This parable reveals the immense forgiveness and love of God for his children, especially those who have made mistakes and return to him in repentance. It also touches on the importance of rejoicing in the restoration of others, even if we don’t fully understand their journey.
In summary, God wants us to remember all the recovery stories in this teaching point to one main theme. That he not only wants us to recover material possessions, lost love ones. His loving intent has been and still is to recover/reconcile the whole unto himself. John 3:16 Jesus proclaimed, “For God so loved the whole world that he gave his only begotten son.”
PRAYER: Father, according to Matthew 18:19, “If two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven,” I agree with your people for miraculous recovery of all kinds. Not just we can do on our own but what you can do. May it be designed just for them—exceedingly abundantly above what they ask or imagined and in a way that it blesses them brings wealth and adds no trouble to it. In Jesus Name. Amen.
God bless yall, see you next week.
